Horse study

Several layers in on this one. Now this animal seems like it is eating dirt. Might seem strange, but I grew up with neighbors who had horses in an enclosed area of a quarter acre.. They were fed hay and always seemed to be eating stuff off the dirt ground. This memory was trigged after I realized what was going on in the painting.
